Adult 1 table daily, if necessary, may be increased by 1-2 tab daily. When a more rapid Hb response is required, an extra dose in the morning is of advantage. Prophylaxis during pregnancy 1st-6th mth: 1 tab daily. Final mth: Increased to 1 tab in the morning & evening.
Patients w/ Fe-storage or Fe-absorption diseases eg, hemochromatosis, hemoglobinopathies, or existing GI diseases eg, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal structures & diverticulae. Risk of dental caries following long term-treatment; treatment should not exceed 3 mth after correction of anemia. Risk of mouth ulcerations & tooth discoloration. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants.
